Hello,
My name is, Pam, Pamela or Pammy
Here is a part of my Bio....
I've worked with
children for approximately 47 years.
I am the oldest of six children. I have a twin sister, a younger brother & sister who are twins and two step-brothers, whom I helped to raise and care for throughout my childhood and adolescence.
Before my first son was born, I was a nanny for six years with a family in the Broadmoor area of Seattle. I have two sons. The first was born January 1985 the same year I acquired my child care license (April), My second was born October 1987. I have been a single mom for most of there life. Both of my sons graduated from Lindbergh High School.
I have always work within the city I live,
I am a member of CCR (Child Care Resources), and
NAFCC (National Association for Family Child Care).
I have been an active
member of South King & South West King County Family Child Care
Associations. At one time or another, I have held the positions of the Vice-President,
President and Treasurer. At present time I am the Treasurer and the Area Representative
of my chapter and the go to person for information on the laws of child care
know as the WAC’s (Washington Administrative Codes).
These organizations support and help child care providers and parents.
I am an active member of the local elementary
school PTA.
I live in a spilt-level house in the Renton area. (Between Fairwood and Valley Hospital). The child care is set up on the lower level of my home. The entrance to the child care is in the back yard. The sloped backyard is fully-fenced with a playground structure. There are two bright and sunny play rooms with lots of toys available and in rotation. There is a small food preparation area that I added when we started child care for practicality for the staff; it is set up with a microwave but no sink or stove. Sometimes, I cook hot meals in my kitchen upstairs (using dinner entrees as lunch menu items). Additionally, I choose to participate in a city-run food program that is monitored monthly.
My biggest endeavor was to acquire my CDA once again. After a year of studies, I graduated in May 2011.
